Ushers and Lay Readers are needed for the 11:15 am worship service. If you would like to know more about this opportunity to serve, please call the office.

Ushers are a vital part of a positive worship experience for those attending services at Morning Star UMC.  They perform several duties including preparing the church for the coming service, greeting and welcoming regulars and newcomers, seating them according to their preferences, providing for their special needs, and caring for them in the case of emergency.   They also help parishioners find restrooms and childcare services and provide any general information required. 

During the service they take up the collection and bring the offering to the altar and control the flow of worshipers to the altar rail at communion time.  After the service, they assist in straightening up the church for the next service.  Each service is distinct, and requires flexibility in meeting the various needs that may arise. 

Anyone interested in becoming an usher (or any other server) should contact the Mary Ann Schantz or the Church Office.
